Not a Honda

Vegas is known for many things.... gambling, night life, food, sin. After living here for two years, I noticed Vegas also has one thing that many cities do not. We have a lot of vanity plates. A vanity plate is someone's self proclamation of their greatness on their license plate. A couple of classic examples include "AZN QT" or "HOTTIE." Narcissism at its finest. I am not sure why anyone would be inclined to broadcast their perceived awesomeness on their car. Isn't that what your twitter is for? Oh wait, twitter is only for your followers. At least with your vanity plate, you can even reach out to complete strangers.

Sometimes people create pretty unique titles like "BAT WMN." A few points are awarded for creativity. Bat wmn is weird, but it is certainly more original than some synonym for "HOTTIE." Other times, people use their vanity plates to show just how lame they are. Take for example Mr. "NOT A HNDA." He drives a white Mustang. We all know a Mustang is a Ford product, but just in case you forgot, Mr. "NOT A HNDA" would like to remind you of it.

Vanity plates are dumb. They really don't serve any purpose, but to give your enemies a way to identify your car when they are ready to key it. However, I am definitely guilty of thinking about what mine would be if I were to get one. I would have to say it would be "YLLW NINJA".  Why? Because I am yellow, and I like to think I am ninja-esque. =)
